    Chippewa County is accepting applications for a Finance Director to lead the County’s financial operations within the Department of Administration – Finance Division.

    The Finance Director is responsible for financial forecasting, budget development and monitoring, central financial accounting and reporting, administration of the County’s debt program and administering a county-wide financial system. This role is also a key member of the Department of Administration and responsible for analyzing all aspects of county finances, providing advice, recommendations and options to the County Administrator and to the County Board. The Finance Director role requires strong leadership, strategic financial expertise and a commitment to serving County residents with professionalism and integrity.

    Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. Five (5) years or more of recent government finance or accounting experience required. Five (5) years management/supervisory experience required. Wisconsin County experience preferred. CPA license preferred. Knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required. Knowledge of Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB) rules required. Must be bondable. A valid drivers licenses and cell phone is required.     Starting Wage: $48.82 – $56.77 per hour depending on qualifications plus an excellent fringe benefit package. Maximum Wage: $68.13 per hour
